Before we learned from our teachers, we had the privilege of learning from our grandparents and elders. This month, as part of our focus value on Respectful, D-PREP had a wonderful celebration for Grandparents’ Day, also known as Elders’ Day. This event was a special opportunity for children to bond with their grandparents and elders and honor the important role they play in our lives.
The day was busy with activities that allowed our Primary students to express their love and appreciation for their loved ones. In the art room, they got creative making handmade cards and writing heartfelt messages for their grandparents. Storytime in the library was a peaceful space for meaningful and intimate discussions.
Meanwhile, the dance room got busy as students demonstrated some dance moves for their grandparents to join in, and the music room echoed with both laughter and song during karaoke sessions, where they sang solo and in pairs. Families also enjoyed the photo booth experience in Dream Space to capture the special moments.
Grandparents’ Day reminds us how important it is to stay connected across generations. Through sharing simple moments, our students expressed their respect by giving time to those who have always been there for them since the beginning.
We want to take a moment to honor all the grandparents and elders who have given so much to our lives. Your unconditional love and support are among the many pillars that help shape who our students are today. Happy Grandparents’ Day!
