In Chinese class, the students learned a lot about Chinese traditional culture. Primary school students learned about how to make Chinese Dumplings. Since Dumplings are a classic Chinese food, with a history of more than 1,800 years, and it’s also a traditional dish eaten on Chinese New Year’s Eve. Our students made their own dumplings and eat them all.

G1 performance “三字经”， San Si Jing is also known as the Three Character Classic, is one of the ancient Chinese classic texts. With the short and simple text arranged in three-character verses, children were taught many common characters, grammar structures, and elements of Chinese history, and the basis of Confucian teachings. Three Character Classic is a precious cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, it is short and pithy, catchy, thousands of years, a household name. It covers history, astronomy, geography, morals as well as some folklore.

G3 students took a video. 西游记Journey to the West. They learned about the characters in Journey to the West and practiced their speaking skills to complete the video. Journey to the West is a Chinese novel published in the 16th century during the Ming dynasty and attributed to Wu Cheng en. It is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.

Every street, building, and the house where Spring Festival is celebrated is decorated with red. Red is the main color for the festival, as red is believed to be an auspicious color. Chinese lanterns hang in streets, red couplets are pasted on doors, and buildings are decorated with red New Year pictures depicting images of prosperity.
